Mission DanceWorks (formerly Sudbrook Arts Centre) is the new official home of Baltimore County Youth Ballet located at Sudbrook Magnet Middle School and Pikesville High School. Formed in 1983, Sudbrook Arts Centre dance education continues to stand as a superior institution for training aspiring dancers and creative thinkers. During its more than 30 year history, the Centre has developed dancers who have gone on to careers in professional companies and have won Maryland State scholarships and college scholarships throughout the country. Looking forward, Mission DanceWorks now leads the Centre into a new season by broadening the scope of local dance offerings with a full range of diverse programming for all ages and abilities. We believe that quality instruction is paramount to a well-rounded athlete and artist so we are pleased to bring in master teachers and professionals in the field of dance to share their gifts with us. As a non-profit school, Mission DanceWorks is unwavering in its commitment to enriching the lives of students of all abilities, which is why we are pleased to announce our new programs in DiverseAbility classes for students who may have various support needs physically or cognitively. Mission DanceWorks is excited to provide diverse performing opportunities for students via Baltimore County Youth Ballet and also the Special Olympics Dance Maryland among others. Our core goal is to prepare all students for life as a thriving, creative individual whether pursuing a professional career as an artist or passionately cultivating an appreciation for creativity and community in any profession and setting. Our program is known for its balanced support of academic education, integrity, and artistic excellence for over 30 years. Thus the Sudbrook Arts Centre program continues to nurture the next generation of thoughtful, diverse, and creative individuals of all career paths through Mission DanceWorks and its community of students, parents, teachers, and volunteers!
