At its January 2009 meeting, the Baltimore County Board of Recreation and Parks certified the Greater Pikesville Recreation Council, Inc., as the authorized agent of the board for the Greater Pikesville area. As such, this recently formed council is the only organization authorized by the county to promote recreation activities within the Greater Pikesville area and to raise funds to support those activities.

“We welcome all members of the community who wish to join with us as participants and volunteers in this new council which has been organized to benefit the entire area,” said Brian Friedlander, president of the Greater Pikesville Recreation Council, “Our goal is to continue currently existing programs and develop new innovative programs to benefit all of the members of our diverse community.”
